Retiring Ty

After some thought and talking with others, I've decided it would be best to retire my Umbreon character, Ty. I have reached that point where I have no idea where to take him, development wise. I don't get to RP him often and even on Twitter he's just sitting there doing nothing. I've hit a wall with him and I don't know how to make him exciting for me again. Rather than piling a bunch of stuff on him to make him interesting again, and risk turning him into a gary stu, it might be best to retire him for a while.

Most people remember him as a Quilava starting out in PKMN Crossing in 2011. He was the first Pokemon OC I ever created here for RP groups. I was surprised he even managed to earn a spot in PKMN Crossing because I thought he was pretty bad character wise. I had a lot of fun RPing him, though as PKMNC began to decline, I decided to reinvent him as a teenager and send him to Armonia as my 3rd character. He had some fun times there and he even developed some nice friendships. The artwork of him was even starting to slowly improve, though eventually, I thought I'd change him into an Umbreon to make him easier to draw. It kinda was meant to lead to development for him, though it was just meaningless. Because of this change, I grew to love drawing him, though soon, I kinda hit a wall. While I gave him new interests to pursue and some pressure from his family to do better in school, he began to grow dull and he just sat there doing nothing. I hit that point where I had no idea how to develop him further and make him interesting again. There was a point though where I did think of transferring him to St Mortiel in exchange for bringing Lucas to Armonia. That would kinda mess with Lucas' development though if I did. I didn't get to RP him as often also and chat RP's have sadly declined. As hard as it is for me, I think retiring him might be the best for him as a character.

Maybe someday he'll return in a different setting, but for now I think I will be pulling him from Armonia. I'll probably do something nice to send him off on a happy note before I either demote him to NPC status, or have him return home to Goldenrod City. I have no idea what will happen after and who will take his slot in the group. I'll have to think about what I will do next, but for now its time to send the Umbreon off. I hope those who did get to RP with him in the past have enjoyed my very first Pokemon OC.
